(The nation of) Aad belied their Messengers. 123 when their brother Hud said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 Fear Allah and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants! 130 So fear you God, and obey you me; 131 And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know. 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 “Indeed I fear upon you the punishment of a Great Day.” 135 They said: it is equal unto us whether thou admonishest or art not of the admonishers. 136 This is not but the custom of the former peoples, 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
