We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When both receivers (the angels) receive, one on his right, the other on his left, 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!" 19 And the Trumpet was blown; “This is the Day of the promised punishment.” 20 And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 (He will be told), "You were completely heedless of this day. We have removed the veil from your eyes and your vision will now be sharp and strong". 22 His companion attendant will say, "I have here his record ready." 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error." 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
