The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the star when it setteth. 1 Your comrade erreth not, nor is deceived; 2 Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. 3 It [the Quran] is nothing but revelation sent down to him. 4 Taught to him by one intense in strength - 5 One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form 6 And he was on the horizon of the highest heaven. 7 Then he drew near and drew closer 8 two bows' length away, or nearer, 9 then revealed to his servant that he revealed. 10 His heart added no untruth to what he saw. 11 Will you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 For indeed he saw him at a second descent, 13 by the lote tree beyond which none may pass 14 near unto the garden of promise. 15 When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. 18 Have you ever thought about al-Lat and al-Uzza, 19 And Manat, the third, the last? 20 Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? 21 Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! 22 They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers – Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. 23 Can ever man get what he desires? 24 To Allah belong both the Next World and the present. 25
