The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and shade extended, 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
