Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope. 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
