Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known term? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
