And we sent Moses, with Our Clear (Signs) and an authority manifest, 96 To Firon and his chiefs, but they followed the bidding of Firon, and Firon's bidding was not right-directing. 97 He will go before his people on the Day of Resurrection and will lead them to the Fire for watering-place. Ah, hapless is the watering-place (whither they are) led. 98 And a curse followed them in the world, and on the Day of Resurrection; what a wretched gift is what they received. 99 That is from the news of the cities, which We relate to you; of them, some are [still] standing and some are [as] a harvest [mowed down]. 100 We did not wrong them; they wronged themselves. When your Lord's chastisement descended upon them, their gods, on whom they called apart from God, were not of the least avail, and all they did was only to add to their destruction. 101 And thus is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the cities while they are committing wrong. Indeed, His seizure is painful and severe. 102 Verily herein is a sign unto him who feareth the torment of the Hereafter. That is a Day whereon mankind shall be gathered together, and that is a Day to be witnessed. 103 We are deferring it only for a time ordained. 104 When that day comes, no one will speak without His permission; so among them are the ill-fated and the fortunate. 105 So those who are ill-fated, are in the fire – they will bray like donkeys in it. 106 They shall abide in it as long as the heavens and the earth endure, unless your Lord may will otherwise. Surely your Lord does whatsoever He wills. 107 ۞ And as for those who were [destined to be] prosperous, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will - a bestowal uninterrupted. 108 Therefore do not be doubtful as to what these worship. They worship only that which their fathers worshiped before them. We shall indeed pay them in full their undiminished measure. 109
