۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute. 58 He (Prophet Jesus) was only a worshiper whom We favored and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And had We willed We could have set among you angels to be viceroys in the earth. 60 And he ['Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. 'Iesa's (Jesus) descent on the earth]. Therefore have no doubt concerning it (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). And follow Me (Allah) (i.e. be obedient to Allah and do what He orders you to do, O mankind)! This is the Straight Path (of Islamic Monotheism, leading to Allah and to His Paradise). 61 And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. 62 When Jesus came with clear signs, he said, "Now I have come to you with wisdom, in order to make clear to you some of the things about which you dispute: therefore fear God and obey me. 63 Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path: 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 Are they awaiting anything other than the Last Hour that it should suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it? 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
