Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
