The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Terror descends 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Who will be honoured 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 near to flowing water 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
