Nay, by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
