And (remember) when your Lord said to Moosa, “Go to the unjust people.” 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me); 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
