He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 you attend to him, 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And he feareth 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olives and palms 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
