The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Issuing from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
