And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
