And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
