The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 like hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and continuous shade, 30 And water poured out 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
