The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
