T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not sent down this Qur’an upon you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) for you to fall into hardship! (Either because he used to pray at length during the night or because he was distressed due to the disbelievers not accepting faith.) 2 But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah). 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 the All-compassionate sat Himself upon the Throne; to Him belongs 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden. 7 Allah, there is no god except He. To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 And has the story of Moses reached you? - 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses, 11 Lo! I, even I, am thy Lord, So take off thy shoes, for lo! thou art in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed to you. 13 Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: 14 Verily the Hour is coming - I wish to conceal it - in order that every one may be requited according to that which he hath endeavoured. 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 What is that in your right hand, Moses' 17 Moses answered: "This is my staff. I lean on it (when I walk), and with it I beat down leaves for my flock, and I have many other uses for it." 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 The Lord said, "Hold the serpent and do not be afraid; We will bring it back to its original form." 21 And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token. 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 "Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience, and has behaved as an arrogant, and as a tyrant)." 24
