The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And wide eyed houris 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water everflowing. 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For those on the right hand; 38
