The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
