Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 raised couches, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
