Nay, by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 From the guilty. 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They said, "We never used to offer the prayer." 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 "And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly." 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 Until the certainty had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 as if they were startled asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
