Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a Garden on high, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 cushions ranged, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
