The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it envelops; 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
