AND WHEN the messengers [of God] came to the house of Lot, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 Exclaimed [Lot]: "Behold, these are my guests: so put me not to shame, 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
