The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 span class="col">Their brother Noah asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 106 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 107 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 108 I ask of you no recompense for it, for my only reward is with the Lord of the Universe, 109 So fear Allah and obey me." 110 ۞ They said: "Shall we believe in you, when the meanest (of the people) follow you?" 111 He said: "And what knowledge have I of what they used to do? 112 Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive. 113 Hence, I shall not drive away [any of] those [who profess to be] believers; 114 I am only a plain warner. 115 'Noah' they replied, 'if you do not desist you shall be of those stoned' 116 He said, 'My Lord, my people have cried me lies, 117 Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers." 118 And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 and drowned the rest. 120 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 121 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 122
