The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 he was created of gushing water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
