So when the envoys came to the household of Lot, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 And thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at the time of sunrise, 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
