O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 Your nation is but one nation, and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me. 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Deem they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We enlarge them. 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Surely those who live in awe of their Lord, 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, 59 And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord - 60 it is these who hasten to do good works and vie in so doing with one another. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 Our revelations had certainly been recited to you, but you turned your backs to them 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy. 75 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
