The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 By the book inscribed. 2 on fine parchment; 3 by the House inhabited 4 And the elevated canopy 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 There shall be none to avert it; 8 On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side 9 and the mountains shall violently fly about. 10 Then woe that day unto the deniers 11 Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves. 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 This is the Fire which you used to belie. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 'When we were among our people' they will say, 'we were ever fearful, 26 But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
