The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
