The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
