Al-Jaatheyah 3 of 4

God has created the heavens and the earth for a genuine purpose so that every soul will be duly recompensed for its deeds without being wronged. 22 [Prophet], consider the one who has taken his own desire as a deity, whom God allows to stray in the face of knowledge, sealing his ears and heart and covering his eyes -- who can guide such a person after God [has abandoned him]? Will you not take heed? 23 And they say: There is nothing but our life in this world; we live and die and nothing destroys us but time, and they have no knowledge of that; they only conjecture. 24 When Our enlightening revelations are recited to them, their only argument against it is, "Bring our forefathers back to life if what you say is true". 25 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Allah giveth life to you, then causeth you to die, then gathereth you unto the Day of Resurrection whereof there is no doubt. But most of mankind know not. 26
