The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
