The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta. Sin. These are the verses of the Quran and of the illustrious Book 1 A guidance and good tidings for the believers, 2 who are steadfast in prayer, who pay the religious tax, and who have strong faith in the life hereafter. 3 Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so they wander about blindly. 4 It is they for whom is the worst punishment, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. 5 And most surely you are made to receive the Quran from the Wise, the Knowing Allah. 6 When Musa said to his family: Surely I see fire; I will bring to you from it some news, or I will bring to you therefrom a burning firebrand so that you may warm yourselves. 7 But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard: "Blessed are those in the fire and those around: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 8 O Musa! verily it is I, Allah, the Mighty the Wise! 9 "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,- 10 Save him who hath done wrong and afterward hath changed evil for good. And lo! I am Forgiving, Merciful. 11 "Now place thy hand into thy bosom: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish!" [And thou shalt go] with nine [of My] messages unto Pharaoh and his people for, verily, they are people depraved!" 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 They denied those Signs out of iniquity and arrogance although their hearts were convinced of their truth. So see how evil was the end of those mischief-makers! 14
