Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HA MIM. 1 By oath of the clear Qur’an. 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 How many Messengers did We send to the ancient people? 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 Surely we have to go back to our Lord." 14 And they allot to Him a portion of His bondmen! Lo! man is verily a mere ingrate. 15
