▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 And a multitude of those of later time. 40 The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 41 They will live amid the scorching, 42 And the shade of black smoke. 43 neither cool nor good. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? 47 “And also our forefathers?” 48 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! those of old and those of later time 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 and then, verily, O you who have gone astray and called the truth a lie, 51 You will indeed eat from the Zaqqum tree. 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. 56 We have created you, so why do you not believe? 57 Have you ever considered that [seed] which you emit? 58 Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? 59 We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 You have surely known of the first creation. Why then, will you not remember! 62 Have you seen what you sow? 63 Is it you who cause them to grow or do We? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Indeed, we have been deprived of the fruits of our labour." 67 Have you considered the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds or is it We Who brought it down? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 Have you ever considered the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
