Al-Qalam 2 of 2
Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure. 34 Shall We then treat those who have surrendered as We treat the guilty? 35 What ails you then, how you judge? 36 Do you have a book from which you study 37 that tells you to do whatever you want? 38 Or have you received from Us an agreement confirmed by an oath extending to the day of resurrection that you shall surely have what you demand? 39 Ask them, which of them will guarantee that! 40 Or have they associates if they are truthful. 41 On the Day when the dreadful calamity will unfold, when people will be summoned to prostrate themselves, and yet they will not be able to prostrate. 42 Their eyes will be cast down and they will be covered in shame; they were bidden to prostrate themselves, when they were safe and sound [but they did not obey]. 43 Leave those who reject the Quran to Me and I shall lead them step by step to destruction, without their being aware of it. 44 I shall give them respite, however, My plan is so strong that they will never be able to escape from it. 45 Or do you ask from them a reward, so that they are burdened with debt? 46 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 47 So be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord, and be not as the Man of the Fish, when he called, choking inwardly. 48 Had it not been that favour from his Lord had reached him he surely had been cast into the wilderness while he was reprobate. 49 His Lord therefore chose him and made him among those deserving His proximity. 50 But the unbelievers would like to stare you out of balance when they hear the warning, and say: "Surely he is possessed;" 51 And it is nothing but a Reminder unto all beings. 52

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
