The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 The closing night, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
