And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 "My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity." 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 "And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised." 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 and they will be asked: "Where now is all that you were wont to worship 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 and no sincere friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
