'Aad denied the messengers 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not take heed? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 so fear you God, and obey you me. 126 I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 127 "Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them? 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So fear God, and obey me; 131 "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know. 132 He hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 gardens and fountains. 134 "Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 139 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 140
