۞ Say to them, (O Prophet): “I give you but one counsel: stand up (for heaven's sake), singly and in pairs, and then think: what is it in your companion (to wit, Muhammad) that could be deemed as madness?” He is nothing but a warner, warning you before the coming of a grevious chastisement. 46 Say, "Whatever reward I ask you (for my preaching) will be for your own good. No one can reward me except God. He is the Witness over all things." 47 Say to them, "My Lord hurls forth the Truth [at falsehood] and He is the knower of hidden things." 48 Say: 'Truth has come. Falsehood has vanished and shall return no more.' 49 Say: "If I am astray, I only stray to the loss of my own soul: but if I receive guidance, it is because of the inspiration of my Lord to me: it is He Who hears all things, and is (ever) near." 50 And could you see when they shall become terrified, but (then) there shall be no escape and they shall be seized upon from a near place 51 They will say: "We believe in it." How could they reach it from a place of no return? 52 And they disbelieved in it before, and they utter conjectures with regard to the unseen from a distant place. 53 And so, a barrier will be set between them and all that they had [ever] desired, as will be done to such of their kind as lived before their time: for, behold, they [too] were lost in doubt amounting to suspicion. 54
