Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
