۞ And when the example of the son of Maryam is given, your people laugh at it! 57 and say: "Which is better - our deities or he?" [But] it is only in the spirit of dispute that they put this comparison before thee: yea, they are contentious folk! 58 He is purely a bondman (of Ours), whom We have favoured upon, and We made him an extraordinary example for the Descendants of Israel. 59 And had We willed We could have set among you angels to be viceroys in the earth. 60 (Muhammad), tell them, "Jesus is a sign of the Hour of Doom. Have no doubt about it and follow me; this is the straight path. 61 And do not ever let the devil stop you; he is indeed your open enemy. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 "Verily, Allah! He is my Lord (God) and your Lord (God). So worship Him (Alone). This is the (only) Straight Path (i.e. Allah's religion of true Islamic Monotheism)." 64 But parties from among them differed, so woe to those who were unjust because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Are they merely waiting for the Hour, which will come upon them suddenly and take them unawares? 66 Friends will turn into enemies on that day, except those who fear and follow the straight path. 67
