The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 And water poured out 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 and made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
