A numerous company from among the first, 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 41 (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, 42 and the shadow of a smoking blaze 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and persisted in the Great Sin, 46 And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?- 47 And our forefathers [as well]?" 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 will be brought together for an appointment on an appointed day. 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers – 51 Will be eating from trees of zaqqum 52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 53 and will thereupon have to drink [many a draught] of burning despair 54 Drinking the way thirsty camels drink. 55 Such will be their dwelling on the Day of Judgment. 56 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? 57 Have you seen sperm? 58 Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator? 59 We have incorporated death in your constitution, and We shall not be hindered 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 And [since] you are indeed aware of the [miracle of your] coming into being in the first instance - why, then, do you not bethink yourselves [of Us]? 62 See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 Had We wanted, We could have made it salty. Why then do you not give thanks? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, 73 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 74
