Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 when the seas overflow; 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble, writers 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
