۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
