Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
